Mai&Co is a small Detroit-area apparel label run by Hmong-American designer Mai Xiong. Women's and kids' pieces in contemporary cuts that nod to the patterns, embroidery, and colour traditions of Hmong textiles — made on demand, never in stock.
Shop the collectionMai Xiong started the label in 2018 to make the clothes she couldn't find — modern apparel that quietly carried the Hmong embroidery patterns, the indigo blues, the appliquéd diamond motifs, and the layered colour-blocking she'd grown up around. The first run was nine dresses sewn in a borrowed Detroit kitchen. The label is small on purpose. Everything is made on demand from the showroom in Warren, Michigan; nothing sits unsold; nothing is mass-produced.
Day dresses and wrap dresses with embroidered yokes, appliqué details, and the indigo blues at the heart of the label.
