Girls' apparel.
The girls' line uses the same Hmong prints as the women's collection — scaled to fit, reinforced for active kids, made to wash and wash and wash without fading. Sizes 2T to 14.
How the girls' line works
The girls' line started as a direct response to customers who bought women's pieces and immediately asked about kids' sizes. It's been part of the collection since the second year.
The design approach is deliberately parallel to the women's line. The prints are the same — diamond geometries, cross-stitch patterns, indigo grounds — scaled to smaller garments and applied in ways that make sense for how children actually wear clothes. A five-year-old doesn't need an embroidered yoke that takes forty minutes to iron; she needs a cotton dress that holds up to a playground and goes in the washing machine without drama.
The silhouettes are simpler than the women's line by intent. A-line dresses, straight-leg leggings, relaxed tees. The print does the work that construction does in the adult pieces. Everything is sized slightly large — kids grow fast, and a piece that lasts two seasons instead of one is worth the initial loose fit.
The pieces
A-line dress
Cotton-blend A-line dress with a print yoke and solid or print skirt. Machine washable, pre-shrunk. Reinforced seams at the underarm and hem. Sizes 2T–10. Available in the indigo and red colourways.
Print leggings
Soft cotton-blend leggings in a Hmong diamond print. Wide elastic waistband, reinforced gusset. Sizes 2T–14. The print runs along the full leg rather than as a panel, which holds up better in a toddler's wardrobe.
Cotton tee
100% cotton jersey tee with a screen-printed geometric chest mark. Preshrunk. Relaxed fit. Sizes 2T–14. Works with the leggings as a coordinated set or on its own with shorts or a skirt.
Embroidered tunic
Straight-cut cotton tunic with embroidered border detail at the hem and cuffs. Long enough to wear as a dress over leggings or tights. Sizes 4–12. The embroidery is reinforced at the thread anchors.
Mommy-and-me set
Matching women's and girls' leggings or tees in the same print. Coordinated rather than identical — the women's piece has more complex print detail; the girls' is a simpler version of the same pattern. Order both by size and note "mommy-and-me" in the order comments.
Pinafore dress
Sleeveless A-line pinafore in a Hmong print fabric, designed to wear over a long-sleeve tee or a plain shirt. Button closure at the back shoulders. Sizes 2T–8.
Sizing notes
All girls' pieces run slightly large, which most parents prefer. A child currently in 4T will usually fit well in the 4T/4 size and have growing room. If your child is between sizes — say, measured between a 6 and an 8 — we generally recommend the larger size for longevity, but email us if you want to talk through a specific piece.
We don't offer custom sizing in the kids' line. The women's line does offer custom sizing, so for older girls in the 14 size who are closer to small women's sizing, that may be worth asking about. Email [email protected] and we'll talk through the options.
Wash and care
Everything in the girls' line is machine washable in cold water. Tumble dry low or air dry. The print leggings and tees can handle normal wash cycles without fading for a long time — the prints are heat-set. The embroidered pieces (tunic and pinafore) should be turned inside out before washing to protect the surface stitching, and the embroidery thread responds better to air drying than a hot dryer.
The cotton-blend fabric preshrinks during production, so there's no meaningful additional shrinkage after purchase.
